Ingredients of Tiranga Cookies

  1. You need 1.1/4 cup of all purpose flour.
  2. It's 110 gm of unsalted soft butter.
  3. Prepare 1/2 cup of sugar.
  4. You need 1 tsp of vanilla extract.
  5. Prepare 1 of egg yolk.
  6. You need 1/4 tsp of salt.
  7. You need few drop of Kesar food colour.
  8. You need few drop of Green Food colour.
  9. You need few drop of Blue Food colour.

Tiranga Cookies instructions

  1. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar for about 3-5 minutes until creamy.
  2. Add egg yolks and vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
  3. Incorporate flour and salt and knead soft smooth dough.
  4. Divide dough in 3 equal pieces. Take small portion from each dough to make small lemon sized ball.
  5. Add kesar food colour to first portion and knead until colour is well incorporated.
  6. Add green colour to second portion and knead until colour is well incorporated.
  7. Add blue colour to lemon sized ball and knead until colour is well incorporated.
  8. Cover each dough into cling wrap. Pat them into rectangular shape. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours.
  9. Roll green dough into a rectangle over a parchment paper. All the tri colored dough should have same length and breadth.
  10. Roll vanilla/white dough into rectangle over a parchment paper. Use flour to make sure the rolling pin doesn't stick.
  11. Roll kesar dough rectangle over a parchment paper.
  12. Flip the vanilla dough on top of the green dough.Flip the kesar dough on top of the vanilla dough.
  13. Roll up into a log, cover and refrigerate for 1 hour..
  14. Preheat oven to 180 deg. Line baking tray with parchment paper..
  15. Slice the log into 1/4 inch thick cookies. Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheets with distance between them.
  16. Take small portion of blue dough, using toothpick, make spokes. Place it on centre of each Cookies.
  17. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until slightly golden.
  18. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes. Cool completely on wire rack..
