- You need 150 g of butter.
- You need 80 g of light brown sugar.
- Prepare 80 g of granulated sugar.
- Prepare 2 tsp of vanilla extract.
- You need 1 of medium egg.
- You need 225 g of plain flour.
- You need 1/2 tsp of bicarbonate of soda.
- You need 1/4 tsp of salt.
- Prepare 100 gm of chocolate chips.

- Line baking tray with greaseproof paper, Preheat oven to gas mark 5.
- Beat/cream together the butter and sugars.
- Beat in the vanilla extract and egg until you have a creamy texture.
- Sieve in the flour, bicarbonate of soda and salt. Stir until you can't see the flour anymore.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Teaspoon the mixture; well apart on the baking tray (you may need to pat mixture down to flatten it a little).
- Bake in the oven for 10 minutes, until light brown on the edges but soft in the middle..
- Leave on baking tray for a few minutes to firm up.
- Transfer onto cooling rack.
