Oreo Layer Cake. Come See our Unique Cake Gifts! Check out our new Mini Cake Explosion Boxes and Mini Cake Variety Packs I used Oreo cookie crumbs again in the Swiss meringue buttercream frosting. This added both flavour and color in just the perfect way. For additional flavour and texture I added some chopped up Oreo cookies between each of the cake layers, and finished the whole thing off with a dark chocolate ganache drip for good measure. This layer cake is surprisingly simple to make, a basic chocolate sponge cake and Oreo buttercream (or frosting as it is known in the good old USA, the home of Oreos!) topped with more buttercream and oreo biscuits.

Pipe a small layer of Oreo buttercream, top with chocolate cake. Pipe another layer on the top and alone the edges. Using the cake scraper, smooth the frosting on the top and thinly along the sides. This layered cake is really something else. The top is drenched in a chocolate ganache with lots of biscuits and cookies on the top.@Although it looks like a challenge, it@s the same basic sponge mixture with different additions for each layer which makes it.
